Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

• Account data: your email address and password (handled by our authentication provider, Supabase).
• Profile data:whether you've opted into the collective community view, an optional general region you type in (e.g. "Denver, CO" — never an exact address), and, only if you've opted in, coordinates derived from that region for a future community map. We also store your Stripe customer ID, subscription ID, and subscription status if you subscribe — never your card number.
• Dream entry content:what you share about a dream (what happened, who was there, the setting, emotions, symbols) — whether typed, dictated by voice, or gathered through our conversational Q&A mode — plus what our AI generates from it: an interpretation (including a key insight, notes on key symbols, and an emotional reflection), an affirmation, extracted themes, a mood classification, a generated image, and optionally a generated video. We also store whether you've marked an entry as a favorite.
• Anonymous aggregate data:if you opt in to the collective community view, we store your region, extracted themes, and mood in a separate table that has no link back to your account — see "Anonymous data" below.
• Usage data:a record of when you generate a video, used only to enforce the free tier's weekly limit.
• Sharing data:if you choose to share a dream, we store an unguessable link (a random token) on that entry so it can be viewed without logging in — see "Your choices" below.

2. How we use it

We use your data to provide the Service: generating your dream interpretation, image, and video; enforcing the free tier's weekly video limit; and, only if you've separately opted in, contributing anonymized data to the collective community view or featuring a specific dream on our YouTube channel.

3. Who we share it with

We use a small number of third-party services to run Reverie:

• Anthropic (Claude):receives your dream narrative (what happened, who was there, setting, emotions, symbols) to generate your interpretation, affirmation, themes, and mood classification. If you use our conversational Q&A mode to record a dream, Claude also sees your answers as you give them, one at a time, so it can ask relevant follow-up questions before your dream is saved. This is the only service that sees your raw dream text.
• OpenAI:receives an AI-generated image prompt derived from your dream to generate your dream's image. If you use voice capture to record a dream, OpenAI also receives that raw audio recording to transcribe it into text — this is the only case where OpenAI sees anything closer to your raw dream content; typed entries never send raw text to OpenAI.
• Runway:receives your generated dream image and a short AI-generated motion prompt to generate your dream's video.
• Supabase: hosts our database, handles authentication, and stores your generated images/videos.
• Stripe: processes subscription payments. We never see or store your card details.
• OpenStreetMap Nominatim: receives only the general region text you typed in (if you opted into the collective view), to convert it into map coordinates.
• Vercel: hosts the Reverie application.

We don't sell your data, and we don't use any analytics or tracking services — there are none integrated into Reverie today.

4. Anonymous data

If you opt in to the collective community view, we store your region, themes, and mood in a table that has no user ID or any other identifier linking it back to your account. There's no way for us — or anyone — to trace a collective contribution back to a specific person from within the app. Your dream text itself is never included in this data.

5. Data retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. Reverie doesn't currently have a self-service "delete my account" button — to request deletion of your account and associated data, email aiemailforme55@gmail.com and we'll process it manually. Anonymous collective contributions, once submitted, can't be individually identified or removed, since they carry no link back to your account.

6. Your choices

Contributing to the collective community view and allowing a dream to be featured on our YouTube channel are both optional and can be turned on or off at any time from within the app.

Sharing a dream is also opt-in and per-entry: you choose exactly which dream to share, and can revoke the link at any time from that dream's page, which immediately breaks the old link for anyone who had it. Shared links are unguessable but not access-controlled — anyone with the link can view that one dream's narrative, interpretation, affirmation, and image.

7. Cookies

We use only the essential session cookies our authentication provider (Supabase) needs to keep you logged in. We don't use any analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.

8. Children's privacy

Reverie is intended for users 18 and older and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

9. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, but no online service can guarantee perfect security.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of Reverie after a change means you accept the updated policy.
